From the Pastor’s Desk – August

Already, we’re more than halfway into the Summer, and I find myself looking into the future. It’s hard not to, with church work. Summertime is rarely good for attendance, and so it always feels weird to plan things during the Summer… I’m fairly certain we had more people at our Pool Party than we had in church that morning! So as I look forward to what the next School year might have in store for all of us, I also would like to know what you all would be interested in going into the next year. Communications for this sort of thing are always vital, after all.

I also realize that sometimes it can be a bit tricky to have the conversation you want to have with a pastor. Telling me something on Sunday Morning doesn’t always work out… my head is full of things and I often forget. Also, despite my public persona, I can be a bit introverted away from the pulpit, and throwing in my ADHD, I’m not always the easiest to contact. So how DO you contact me, if you so desire?

If you’re trying to get ahold of me during business hours, calls and messages at the church office always work. Notes in my mailbox can also be effective. In an emergency, calls to my phone number also work (though I’m much better with texts.) It’s also good to remember that though I’m not the best at remembering things, I have a wonderful secretary who can help remind me of things if I get carried away on side tangents. Also, I KNOW that I am forgetful, so never feel shy about reminding me about certain things if you wonder if I have forgotten. I do try to respond to messages quickly and efficiently, but I know things slip through my net. So lets keep working at it, and see what we can do!
